The Peel markets towards gay males and at times, legally discriminates towards those who are not.
Casual crew members are required to work the bar; collect glasses; operate the cloakroom; clean the floors, the toilets, the stores, and the entrances, exits & footpaths.
Employees & contractors, regardless of their own sexuality, are expected to be comfortable with demonstrations of gay male sexuality – and acknowledge that greetings, and gestures of affectionate behaviour, such as a kiss on the cheek, are considered normal at The Peel.
It can be grounds for termination, for staff to date or become ‘romantically’ involved with other staff, contractors or hotel patrons. Previous or current involvements MUST be declared on or before your trial.
Sometimes, friends, partners, or family members of staff may be subject to entry restrictions.
Roster times can start anywhere from 8pm to 1am, and finish anywhere from 3am to 8am. You may be expected to work MOST Fridays, Saturdays & All Public Holiday Eve's.
It is grounds for termination for a drink to be dispensed and NOT rung up in a register at that time.
By sending this form, I confirm that I wish to proceed with my application to have a trial, and also apply for casual work on the basis and understanding that, I accept the terms above and that they are only some of the critical elements working at The Peel Hotel involves.
